Your adventure begins in Duluth, MN, as you travel west by motorcoach to Medora, ND. Along the way, enjoy scenic prairie views and a stop in Fargo before arriving for a Welcome Dinner in charming Medora. Highlights include Theodore Roosevelt National Park, a Pitchfork Steak Fondue, and the Medora Musical.

Continue on to South Dakota, stopping at Devils Tower and exploring the beauty of Spearfish Canyon before settling in historic Deadwood. Visit Mount Moriah Cemetery, then experience Crazy Horse Memorial and a classic Chuckwagon Supper in Custer.

Discover wildlife and breathtaking views in Custer State Park, followed by a visit to Mount Rushmore for dinner and the inspiring Lighting Ceremony. Head east with stops at Wall Drug and Badlands National Park before arriving in Sioux Falls for a Farewell Dinner.

Conclude your journey with a visit to scenic Falls Park before returning to Duluth—full of memories, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the history and beauty of the American West.

Wednesday, August 26 – Medora, ND
Your adventure begins as you board your motorcoach in Duluth, MN and set out for the charming town of Medora, North Dakota. En route, you will stop in Fargo to stretch your legs and enjoy lunch on your own. As you travel across the prairie, there will be plenty of time to relax, take in the scenery, and get to know your fellow travelers. Upon arrival in Medora, you will check into your hotel and gather for an included Welcome Dinner to kick off your adventure! (D)

Thursday, August 27 – Medora, ND
After an included breakfast at the hotel, you will dive into the natural beauty of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, often referred to as the “other” Badlands. The park offers scenic drives, hiking trails, and ranger-led programs that share insights into the landscape Roosevelt once called home. Be on the lookout for bison, wild horses, prairie dogs, and other wildlife along the Little Missouri River. After some free time back in Medora, you will enjoy a classic Western evening – an included Pitchfork Steak Fondue dinner followed by the renowned Medora Musical, featuring toe-tapping performances that celebrate patriotism, Roosevelt’s legacy, and the spirit of the American West. Friday, August 28 – Deadwood, SD
After an included breakfast at your hotel, you will depart Medora and travel across the scenic landscapes of Montana and Wyoming, heading toward one of America’s most iconic landmarks – Devils Tower National Monument. This sacred site is America’s first National Monument and offers fascinating stories, photo opportunities, and perhaps a glimpse of climbers scaling the rock formation. Continuing into South Dakota, you will wind through the stunning Spearfish Canyon, including some photo stops, and if possible, at the beautiful Bridal Veil Falls and the natural swimming hole known as Devil’s Bathtub. Once you arrive in the historic town of Deadwood, you will check into your hotel and enjoy free time relaxing or exploring on your own. (B, L-box lunch)
Saturday, August 29 – Custer, SD
After an included hotel breakfast, your day will begin with exploration of Historic Old Town and a visit to Mount Moriah Cemetery, the resting place of legends such as Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. From there, you will travel south to the Crazy Horse Memorial, where you witness the ongoing progress of this monumental mountain carving. Afterward, you will check into your hotel and enjoy an evening filled with Western charm at a traditional Chuckwagon Supper. (B, D)
Sunday, August 30 – Custer, SD
An early breakfast fuels you for the day of adventure in Custer State Park, South Dakota’s oldest and largest state park. You will drive the Wildlife Loop in search of its famed free-roaming bison, along with pronghorns, elk, and more. Lunch will be included at the historic State Game Lodge. Afterward, you will traverse the dramatic granite spires and scenic curves of Needle Highway, stopping at tranquil Sylvan Lake for a break. This evening, you will head to the iconic Mount Rushmore for dinner at Carver’s Café, followed by the inspiring Lighting Ceremony at the monument. (B, L, D)
Monday, August 31 – Sioux Falls, SD
After breakfast, you will make your way to the legendary Wall Drug – a must-see roadside attraction – where you can browse the quirky shops and enjoy a 5-cent coffee and fresh donut on your own. You then will enter Badlands National Park for a scenic drive through its hauntingly beautiful rock formations and native grasslands. You will stop for lunch on your own before continuing east to Sioux Falls. Once you arrive, you will check into your hotel and gather for a memorable Farewell Dinner to celebrate your time together. Tuesday, September 1 – Return Home
This morning, you will check out of your hotel and make a final stop at beautiful Falls Park, where the Big Sioux River tumbles over pink quartzite ledges. Afterward, you will begin your drive home, stopping along the way for lunch on your own. You will arrive back in Duluth later in the day – returning with full hearts, new friends, and unforgettable memories of the great American West. (B)
