This outdoor museum is a vibrant exploration of genius in all its forms. It allows you to experience the strides of America’s greatest minds while fully immersing yourself in their stories.
Next – Greenfield Village
Here, 300 years of American perseverance serve as a living reminder that anything is possible. Step foot in the lab where Thomas Edison had his lightbulb moment or the workshop where the Wright brothers taught us to reach for the sky. Take a ride in a real Model T, or a walk through four working farms.
Enjoy a lunch on your own before continuing to Detroit
Detroit – Motor City – Motown Tour
This afternoon, enjoy a tour of Detroit, from The Guardian Building to Motown to Greektown, you will be surprised by the diversity and cultures and the important roles Detroit has played in America’s culture and history.
Enjoy an included dinner tonight in Detroit (location TBA) before returning to your hotel

After an included breakfast at your hotel, checkout, and travel to Traverse City!
Traverse City
Nestled in the pinky of the Lower Peninsula mitten, Traverse City is surrounded by the waters of Lake Michigan. Known as the Cherry Capital of the World, the land is bountiful, paving the foundation for inventive culinary experts, craft brewers, winemakers, and distillers. Upon arrival you will be able to stretch your legs and enjoy lunch on your own.
A Guided Tour of Sleeping Bear Dunes
One of the most profoundly beautiful landscapes in America! These “Mountains of Sands” and named the Most Beautiful Place in America by Good Morning America! Meet your guide for a walk through the dunes and to amazing vistas. Be sure to have your camera ready!
After a day of touring, check in to The Indigo Hotel located in downtown Traverse City and prepare for dinner
An included dinner tonight is at Harrington’s By The Bay
Graciously sitting across the beautiful shores of West Grand Traverse Bay, local fare is served in a comfortable and lively atmosphere.
Following dinner, cap off an amazing day with Sunset Tall Ship Cruise!
The Manitou is a Tall Ship and a wonderful way to enjoy a spectacular sunset cruise on West Traverse Bay! Tall Ship Manitou is a replica of an 1800’s “coasting” cargo schooner, like those that sailed the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean.

After an included breakfast at your hotel, check out and travel north.
First stop – Walking and Tram Tour of Castle Farms
Visit the beautiful Castle and gardens, Michigan’s largest outdoor model railroad with over 2,500ft of track, World War I Museum full of photos, documents and toys from the Great War era, a private collection including royal, wedding, and other memorabilia
An included Lunch will be at Stafford’s Weathervane Restaurant
A converted grist mill nestled along the Pine River Channel in downtown Charlevoix.
Next stop – a guided tour of Charlevoix
A lovely lakeside village, but the real charm is in the Mushroom Homes – Gnome Homes! Designed and built by Charlevoix native Earl Young, these Mushroom Houses are over 26 of the most fascinating stone structures even built.
Continue north to Lavender Hill Farms
This is Michigan’s largest lavender farm for a golf cart tour through the lavender
Finally – a tour of the charming lakeside community of Petoskey
It’s known for its breathtaking views, Victorian architecture, historic Gaslight Shopping District. Along with the spectacular views of crystal-blue Little Traverse Bay, one of the first things to catch your eye is the elegant Victorian architecture in the homes and buildings. The Bay View community alone has more than 400 homes on the National Historic register. You will have some time for browsing and then dinner on your own!
Following this full day of touring, travel north to Mackinaw City and check into the Best Western Plus Waterfront hotel, where a waterfront room will be waiting for you.

After an included breakfast, catch the ferry to Mackinac Island.
Upon arrival, you will have a carriage ridden tour of Mackinac Island
This is a pristine island with no cars! Your tour will end at The Grand Hotel.
You’ll enjoy an amazing, included lunch and tour of the delightful iconic Grand Hotel
This hotel is the bucket list destination for many and has been featured in many films including ‘Somewhere in Time’.
After a carriage ride back to the town, you’ll have time to shop and enjoy dinner on your own!
With separate vouchers to take the ferry back to Mackinaw City, you control your afternoon and evening’s schedule. Your hotel is a short walk from the ferry terminal.

After an included breakfast at your hotel, you will travel north for more incredible adventures!
First stop - The Museum of Ojibwa Culture
You’ll take a glimpse into the Ojibwa culture and the lifestyles of the Huron. This is also where the French Jesuit Mission was located where Father Marquette resided and is the final resting place for Father Jacques Marquette.
Next, travel up to The Point Iroquois Light Station
This light house stands high above the waters of Lake Superior at the entry to St. Mary’s River. It served passing sailors by marking the narrow channel. The name Point Iroquois references a battle that took place in 1662 between the local Ojibwa and an invading Iroquois war party.
Following the light station, you’ll make your way to Sault Ste Marie
This quaint village sits at the junction of two great lakes – Huron and Superior! Enjoy time strolling the shops and cafes and the wonderful park along the water. Lunch on your own.
While in Sault Ste Marie, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking Boat Tour of Soo Locks
Travel on two Great lakes and through two locks while learning about the history and enjoying the wonderful scenery
Travel back to Mackinaw City – and enjoy an included dinner tonight at a local restaurant (location TBA)

After an included breakfast at your hotel, check out and begin your travel home
On the way home, stop in Munising on Lake Superior for a Scenic Boat Ride
This 2 ¼ hour boat ride will take you to see The Pictured Rocks and Spray Falls – a truly magnificent sight. A bucket list sight!
You will enjoy an included boxed lunch on the bus while heading home

Before arriving home, you will stop in Ironwood, MI for dinner on your own. Depending on your drop off location, you should arrive home between 6-8pm.
