Ketchikan, AK – Located on an island, Ketchikan began life as an Indian fishing camp. The name Ketchikan comes from a Tlingit phrase that means “eagle with spread-out wings,” a reference to a waterfall near town.
Saturday, September 9th
Juneau, AK – Some 30,000 people live in Juneau. Its total area makes it one of the biggest towns, in size, in the world. Today, it’s famous not only for gold and government but also for its breathtakingly beautiful glaciers and stunning water and mountain views.
Sunday, September 10th
Skagway, AK – Once known as the gateway to the gold fields, Skagway was Alaska’s largest town with a population of about 20,000. But when the gold yield dwindled in 1900, so did the population. Today, it’s home to less than 1,000 residents.
Monday, September 11th
Hubbard Glacier (Scenic cruising) – The largest tidewater glacier in North America, the glacier measures 76 miles long and plunges 1,200 feet underwater.
Tuesday, September 12th
College Fjord (Scenic Cruising) – This area boasts the world’s largest collection of tidewater glaciers, snowcapped mountains, and the area’s 40-ton humpback whales.
Wednesday, September 13th
Anchorage (Whittier), AK – Established as a World War II port for cargo and troops of the Alaska Command, Whittier remained activated until 1960. Today, its economy and its 290 residents rely largely on the fishing industry, the port and tourism.

Mt. McKinley – Enjoy a Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service to Princess Wilderness Lodge for a 1-night retreat. Choose optional excursions or simply enjoy the grounds of your lovely lodge.

Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge – Depart on a scenic motorcoach ride to the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge at the doorstep of Denali National Park. Take a Natural History Tour into Denali National Park.
Saturday, September 15th
Fairbanks, AK – Travel by motorcoach, take a sternwheeler Riverboat Cruise down the Chena River. You’ll get to experience Gold Rush history, Native culture and colorful Alaska lifestyle of bush pilots, dog sledders and Native artisans.
